Vietnam"s economy will grow 4.7 percent in 2023 and accelerate to 5.5 percent in 2024, according to a report by the World Bank (WB) released on Thursday.
The country"s consumer price index (CPI) is expected to rise 3.5 percent in 2023 and will be stabilized at 3 percent in 2024, according to its latest economic update named \"Making Public Investment Work for Growth.\"
A challenging external environment and weaker domestic demand are leading to a slowdown in economic growth in Vietnam, but the economy will pick up pace over the second half of this year and the following years, Vietnam News Agency cited the report.
Vietnam has set the goal to achieve gross domestic product (GDP) growth of 6.5 percent this year.
